The Ministry of Labour is about to implement a revised CSA Certification Standards for Inspection of Cranes, Hoists and Trolleys, (already standard in the Mining Act) for the Industrial Safety Act.

The new Standard will require compliance with CSA B167-96, Safety Standard for Maintenance & Inspection of Overhead Cranes, Gantry Cranes, Monorails, Hoists and Trolleys). Annual safety inspections will be required (prorated for shift applications).
